Hypnotherapy for Phobias and Fears - Belfast
What is a phobia?
A phobia is an overwhelming and incapacitating fear of an object, situation, animal, place or feeling.
Phobias are an exaggerated or unrealistic sense of danger about the situation the person finds themselves in.
It can become so severe that the persons entire life could be affected. Organising their life around avoiding the thing causing the anxiety. It can also cause a lot of stress for the sufferer and the people close to them.
The sufferer may not experience any symptoms until they come into contact with the source of the phobia. But in some cases even thinking about the phobia could cause anxiety or even panic.
Symptoms include:
- Dizziness
- Light-headedness
- Nausea
- Sweating
- Increased heart rate
- Trembling
- Upset stomach
- Shortness of breath
Solution focused hypnotherapy, using trance, works to take the anxiety relating to the phobia and move it to the appropriate part of the brain where we have intellectual control over it. This allows the phobia less power and increases our own power over the thought, feeling, object or situation we once feared so much.
